I just had some very sad news. Nick Busby, one of the founders of the Abergavenny Astronomy Society, our chair until last year, and also a stalwart of the Usk Astronomical Society, died last night (Sunday).
As those who attend our meetings will be aware he has been undergoing treatment for some time.
He will be sorely missed by our society. He was by far the most astronomically knowledgeable person in the society and devoted a huge amount of time and effort to education and support for all things astro both locally and nationally.
I’m sure we will all wish to offer our condolences to his family at this time.
I’m so sorry to hear this. He was an amazing man, so full of knowledge and willing to give his time to help those interested in this subject. He will certainly be missed. Please pass on our condolences.

That is really sad news. I only knew Nick from the online society meetings but he was always willing to share his knowledge and extremely supportive. May his soul rest in peace.
This is indeed very sad news – although it’s ages since I’ve attended a meeting due to my own ill health – I remember Nick as a true inspiration to my love of astrophysics as well as being a truly good man. He will be missed.
What an orator of at times a difficult subject to grasp..listening to his presentations educated me..will miss the man…
